The search isn't working with my browser, so if I'm in the wrong section or if this has already been posted let me know...I have a 1969 Pontiac Custom S Sprint 250 all original with 200,000 miles. I live on Long Island, NY and I'm sure you know what New York City traffic is like. This has been my daily driver for over 6 years now and I ran into a little overheating problem in the city. Doing some late night surfing and found this old vid of a 67' Lemans w/OHC.

Timing belt replacement

Hello I just replacerd the timing belt and the engine runs but the vacum advance is hitting the block not allowing the timing to get better than 5 degrees after tdc. I think it got a tooth off on the accessory drive. any ideas?

I have a 66 1 barrel motor i believe. Looking at a 67 possibly 4 barrel and I know I have read and there is

two intakes = 1 and 4 barrel
heads = not really sure, is there a difference between 4 and 1 barrel for the heads?
bottom end = sounds like they are all the same
timing cover = heard 66 is one year only?

What else are different between 1 and 4 barrel? rods?

In a blink of an eye a 30's something rolls by and without doubt it had an OHC.
I'm sure I've seen that car on this site but can't find the pic.

Are the motor mount frame perches proprietary to the OHC 6? I'm building up my '66 frame and they're missing. I've seen a few pairs on ebay, but of course they are all V8's.

Also, this convertible frame had no transmission cross-member with it, so I picked one up from a buddy of mine. It is a convertible cross-member, but it's from a '68. The repro suppliers have two crossmembers. One for '64-'67, another for '68-'72. Does...

I just got a ohc 6 and was told it was a 66 but havent verified numbers yet, It is 1 barrel version. Looking at rebuiling it and want to either turbo or supercharge it. I am fimiliar with the m90s of gtps but think turbo look cleaner and easier to plumb. I plan to install this in a 32 pontiac 5 window coupe hot rod and was thinking of getting 300hp or so out of this combo. I Know clifford makes 4 barrel intake. Any pics of turbo or supercharged set ups? Any thing else i need to...

Hi everybody. Glad to see a forum for these engines! I've had a 67 Firebird for about 11 years now, I bought when I was 15. It had an OHC6 and 3 speed manual on the tree. I tuned it up and drove it like that for a few months when I got my license. It blew the head gasket and after having some work done to the head and putting it back on I never got it running again. Looking back it was probably only the fuel pump because I could pour gas down the carb and it would start but not stay...

Crankcase gasket and crankshaft seal removal

I'm trying to replace the front crankcase gasket and crankshaft seal on my '69 OHC6 250cid.

I'm not sure how to remove the crankshaft timing belt sprocket. The shop manual doesn't tell you to use a tool for the sprocket removal.

1) Should the sprocket be loose enough to tap off or do I need a special tool? I'm afraid of damaging the front crankcase cover by loosening with pry bar.

2) Do I need to drop the oil pan to remove the front crankcase...

I am getting ready to make another production run of adjustable cam gears for the OHC 6 and thought I would offer them here first. If you have rebuilt your Cammer and or running a larger than stock camshaft, you are limited as to how to adjust the cam timing. Now you have a adjustable option in the Sprintbird Sprocket. The gear is made from the original cast piece and a precision billet aluminum hub. The gear comes painted, features locking hardware and is fully balanced.
