Been gone awhile, gotta question for ya. Dimensions?

Hey guys, been awhile since I've been on here. I'm looking for some dimensions on the OHC motor. I'm contemplating putting one in my 86' bird' and doing the EFI/DIS/Turbo setup I had planned for my 69'. I don't have an engine around here to measure so wondering if anyone had the dimensions or could get them for me. Mainly looking for length, width of block then distance from head to end of 4bbl carb manifold, and height from bottom of the front of the oil pan (not...

ST 300 starter pocket

Hi, does anyone know if all ST 300's will fit the OHC's or does it have to be specifically for the 6. The main concern is if an ST 300 has a spot open for a starter on the passenger side. Thanks

What's the difference btwn 326 and the OHC bellhousings?

I am wondering what the difference is between the v8 manual bellhousings and the ohc ones. I can get a saginaw, bellhousing, shifter and linkage out of a 67 Tempest for nearly nothing, but it had a 326 in it. Will this work on an ohc??? Any pics or description would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Timing belt replacement

Hello I just replacerd the timing belt and the engine runs but the vacum advance is hitting the block not allowing the timing to get better than 5 degrees after tdc. I think it got a tooth off on the accessory drive. any ideas?

Caught a little bit of Car Crazy.
In a blink of an eye a 30's something rolls by and without doubt it had an OHC.
I'm sure I've seen that car on this site but can't find the pic.

Hi everybody. Glad to see a forum for these engines! I've had a 67 Firebird for about 11 years now, I bought when I was 15. It had an OHC6 and 3 speed manual on the tree. I tuned it up and drove it like that for a few months when I got my license. It blew the head gasket and after having some work done to the head and putting it back on I never got it running again. Looking back it was probably only the fuel pump because I could pour gas down the carb and it would start but not stay...

4 Speed question

I just picked up a 67 Tempest Custom - Sprint, hard top, 3 speed floor shift with bench seat - pretty complete. Cam has a couple flat lobes. (E-cam) what are my options? any replacements out there? Also, I have an early (1963 ford Galaxy) T10 4 speed in the shed, looking at the OHC Bell Housing - it is dual drilled and the early ford T10 will bolt up. Any info on this conversion? I would really rather have a 4 speed, looks like minimal effort to install? Any info?

Compression on a 68 Sprint ?

what should the compression range be on a 68? I looked in the book and all I could find was they should all be close to same. Also I need a camshaft plug, maybe an over-sized one if anyone has one. Thanks

Hi, how yall doin........I haven't been here for a while, I've been building a 46 ratrod..... I had to do the trans in my 66 sprint. After my 4th trip back to the shop, we found the shifter cable was comming apart. Long story short......I now need a shifter cable. So far Ames and PY said no good and no one is making any at this time. WHAT DO I DO NOW !!!!!!!!!!!!

I was looking at a Lincon Zepher at the show yesterday, think it was about a '39? Original paint and the v-12 looked untouched for decades. Pretty cool. No, Very cool!
My freind said he thought about buying a clean, solid one recently for the Caddie V-8 and stick setup in it.He thought he could have sold the body easily.
I got to thinking...Carousel red, OHC-6, T-5. Sh$%#@!
