Hi everybody. Glad to see a forum for these engines! I've had a 67 Firebird for about 11 years now, I bought when I was 15. It had an OHC6 and 3 speed
manual on the tree. I tuned it up and drove it like that for a few months when I got my license. It blew the head gasket and after having some work done to the
head and putting it back on I never got it running again. Looking back it was probably only the fuel pump because I could pour gas down the carb and it would
start but not stay running. Well anyway I was so sick of messing with that engine I just yanked it and installed a 400/th400 I pulled from the local junk yard.
I've since swapped short blocks with a 455 Bonneville and resold that car. But!...I recently bought both 68 and 69 Firebirds so no need to have 3 v8 1st
gens. I want to put the six cylinder back in the 67 and turbo charge it. I've toyed with the idea for a while and have seen Primatech's site in the
past. I see there's nothing there now though. Are they still in business?

I just had a similar issue. A couple of months ago my car would not start to go home from a car show. Good thing it was local, because I had to trailer it
home. I knew it wasn't the fuel pump because I had pressure to the carb. I keep spare fuel filters in the glove box, put a new one in and it ran for a
minute, but then starved out again. Last weekend I finally pulled the carb apart and the carb had the wrong float (too big for the bowl). It was catching the
tip on the bottom of the bowl when empty and rubbing the sides when full. I had a spare 68 400 q-jet on the bench and switched the floats. Now all is well.
